Work

I am interested in the learners who are easiest to misunderstand and hardest to categorise.

My work focuses on children and young people whose strengths, potential and complexity are not always recognised by the systems around them. This includes high learning potential and twice-exceptional learners, alongside disadvantaged, care-experienced and neurodivergent children and young people whose capabilities can remain hidden behind barriers, labels or circumstances.

Drawing on experience across education, family support, safeguarding, assessment, coaching and professional development, I take a strengths-based and relational approach to understanding learners as whole people rather than collections of needs, diagnoses or outcomes. I am a qualified ECHA/RITHA Specialist in Gifted Education and a BPS Registered Educational Assessor holding RQTU and Early Years Teacher Status.

Much of my work involves helping families, professionals and organisations see the full picture, reframe the deficit lens, making strengths more visible, and finding practical ways forward together.

This website is a developing home for my work, writing and professional interests.
